What information does the Verified by GS1 service on GS1.org provide?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 9:55 AM

Verified by GS1 answers the question: “Is this the product that I think it is?” by providing users with the following information:
  • Is the GTIN valid, is it properly structured?
  • Is this GTIN licensed to a known party (known by GS1)?
  • To whom has the GTIN been licensed?
  • Does the GTIN exist in the GS1 Registry Platform?
  • Of the 7 Verified by GS1 product attributes, which attributes are available for the GTIN?
Occasionally, the service may also be augmented with additional attributes and capabilities through the collaborative work between the Data IN/Data OUT Programme and the GS1 Federation (e.g. GTIN Record Status and Links to other sources of data).
