What other hospitals have implemented GS1 standards?

There are a number of other healthcare providers who have implemented GS1 standards in different clinical and business processes and a range of case studies available to explain the implementations (refer to http://www.gs1.org/healthcare).

Referencing the different case studies and their applications will enable you to identify the clinical or business processes that are most appropriate for your setting and implementation.  Depending on which clinical or business process you would like to use GS1 standards for, there are hospital peers that you can talk to.  

For example, with bedside scanning you can improve patient safety, with scanning medical devices in the operating theatre you can save a lot of money and ensure a better recall process and with inventory management you can gain efficiencies.
