What is GS1’s role in traceability?

Modified on Thu, 22 Aug at 9:52 AM

Companies are facing traceability requirements in the physical and digital world, needing global standards to support compliance. GS1 facilitates the development of the GS1 Global Traceability Standard and other global standards to offer a common foundation for identifying, capturing and sharing unique traceability information (master data, transactional data and event data) that can flow seamlessly between trading partners and downstream to the consumer -enabling supply chain transparency.

We provide a foundational framework for the design of interoperable traceability systems, enabling organisations to access, combine and interpret data from a variety of sources across the end-to-end supply chain.
